The noise level is not a problem. It is quiet, with no overpowering whirring noises in the compressor. Of course when it is set to Fan Mode, expect some noise especially when it is set at the highest setting. Otherwise, this unit is quieter than most.
Portability is one of the main advantages with this product. It's of a good size that can fit easily in any room, and because it comes with castors, moving it from one part of the home to another is not a problem. Some might find it heavy, but the castors ought to take care of that. Some portable AC's sacrifice quality for portability, however. This does not. It blows really very cold air, and quickly cools a room in a short amount of time.
With the use of the remote control, one can very easily adjust the temperature to your desired settings. AC units are not really on top of the chain when talking about environmentalism or eco-friendliness. This AC unit, however, takes pride in being CRC-free and with lead-free RoHS compliant components. You get the benefit of a smoothly-running portable AC with the peace of mind knowing you have your bases covered when it comes to being contributory to ozone damage.
The carbon air filter integrated into this in this free standing air conditioner works very well in removing odor and smoke from the room while cooling it. Not only does it not emit harmful elements into the air, it also absorbs them and clears the room. This dual-purpose feature is another attractive feature of this AC unit.
The venting hoses could have been longer. Not that it is too short, but if one is to maximize the benefits of "portability" to its fullest, having to deal with a hose that could have been slightly longer is quite frustrating. If it were a little longer, the options of moving it way higher or something would have been greater.
A few reviewers consider it could be smaller, and perhaps it could. But since it is portable, the size should not matter much in making one rethink buying this product.This is a very impressive AC unit. It does what it claims to do, and does it satisfactorily.
