Portable air conditioner reviews of the DeLonghi PAC A120E portable AC are generally unfavorable, which is quite surprising, considering the product specifications provided.
First things first, it does it primary job very well: which is to cool down a room. It runs quietly and smoothly, with the minimum of noise. The "no drip" technology is a very attractive feature for any prospective buyer looking into the features of a portable AC unit they want to purchase. Everyone would readily admit that sometimes it is a pain to continuously and repeatedly empty the bucket once it is filled with excess condensation. This product seems to be the answer to that, as it recycles the excess condensation so you NEVER have to empty the bucket EVER! That sure saves a lot of time and effort on the part of the users.
A caution, however. Do not entirely rely on assurances by product manufacturers alone. Exercise a little care in handling your own appliances. It would pay to check the buckets now and again. Better safe than sorry.
The main problems pointed out by other users who own this unit is the occurrence of leaks, and the magnitude of said leaks are such that some liken it to a fountain. These are less likely to happen with a little preventive maintenance on the part of the user. Have it checked regularly be repairmen, or do it yourself if you are sure you are capable of doing so. However, it is quite a bit of a letdown when you expect such a high-performing machine to be prone to dust-clogging that will eventually lead to leaks.
There's also the issue where the internal tank is fixed, not removable, thus hampering you from manually draining the water off before it overflows the tank and comes out as a massive leak. This product flaw should be addressed by the manufacturers as its severity could eclipse the very good features of this unit.
